Client Executive
John comes to Graham after nearly 20 years of practicing law in multiple jurisdictions with a focus on commercial litigation and transactions in the construction and real estate industry. During this time, he worked as in-house counsel at several ENR 400 general contracting/ construction management firms where he managed contract disputes/ litigation, owner contract negotiations, subcontractor procurement and risk management.
He then worked in private practice managing construction and real estate matters in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. He has also advised medical practices on franchise, regulatory, and corporate issues. Prior to working in Philadelphia, John served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Trial Division for Massachusetts Attorney General where he handled construction, civil rights and tort claims after he had spent time prosecuting zoning, building and housing code violations on behalf of the Boston Inspectional Services Department. Prior working as an attorney, he served as the Deputy Communications Director for Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and as an Assistant Commissioner for the Boston Inspectional Services Department, the municipal department charged with regulating construction, housing, zoning and food service establishments in the City of Boston. In that capacity he developed and implemented regulatory policy, worked on legislative initiatives, and managed media relations.
John earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and International Relations at Boston University where he was a four-year member of the Varsity rowing team and the team captain. He earned his Juris Doctor degree at Suffolk University Law School, and is licensed to practice law in six state and federal jurisdictions.
Outside of Graham, John is an adjunct faculty member of the Drexel University Construction Management Program. He also has taught at the Temple University Small Business Development Center’s Construction Program. He is active in several construction industry trade groups throughout the Mid Atlantic area, and has participated as a panelist for several industry events. He is also active in the Philadelphia rowing community, the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 542 and serves as a member of the Ancillae Assumpta Academy Parents Council. He and his wife Angelique have three sons, two at Ancillae and one at LaSalle College High School.
